5 day riding tour in Iceland

Experience the magnificent sights of Iceland on a guided 5 day riding tour to the glacier Langjökull and the Lake Hagavatn.

Duration: 5 days / 4 nights – 3 riding days
Daily rides: 25 km
Riding skills: Good riding skills and a good physical condition
Accommodations: 2 nights in made up beds in Uthlid cottages and 2 nights in sleeping bag accommodation.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival Day:
• Transfer from Keflavik Airport to Uthlid
• Dinner at Rettin Restaurant
• Overnight stay at Uthlid‘s beautiful cottages

Day 2:
• 08:00 o‘clock - Breakfast at Rettin Restaurant
• Our guide introduces you to our horses
• Lunch in Réttin
• 13:00 o‘clock – The riding tour begins. The group leaves Uthlid and we ride for 25 km to lodge Mosaskardsskali at Lake Hagavatn
• Dinner and evening entertainment

Day 3:
• 08:00 o‘clock - Breakfast at the Lodge
• We ride through the highlands and go around Brekknafjoll Mountains, all the way to Lake Hagavatn and the glacier Langjökull
• Lunch in the nature
• 16:00 o‘clock – Arrival at the Lodge
• Afternoon refreshment
• Barbecue party and evening entertainment (sing-along with Icelandic farmers)
 
Day 4:
• 08:00 o‘clock - Breakfast at the Lodge
• We ride back to Uthlid. Pleasant paths alternate with more difficult terrain
• Lunch in the nature
• (Eyfirðingaleid, Hellisskard, Hognhofdi, Bruararskord). Afternoon refreshment
• 18:00 o’clock – Arrival at Uthlid. We go to Hlidarlaug swimming pool. Dinner at Rettinn Restaurant. After dinner we go on a sightseeing tour to the Geysir Hot Spring area and Gullfoss Waterfall

Day 5:
• Early breakfast
• Transportation from Uthlid to Keflavik Airport

Included:
• Ground transportation from Keflavík to Uthlid and from Uthlid to Keflavík
• Full board is provided on the riding tour and at Uthlid
• Rain wear, saddle gear and riding helmet
• English speaking guide

Not included:
• Individual travel insurance is not included in the tour price. We encourage our clients to obtain relevant travel insurance before visiting Iceland.
• Flight to and from Iceland is not included
• Minimum age for children is 15. The children have to be able to ride a horse on their own to participate in the tour.
